Good post Norm,
Runningman's Atheist Bible Guide had some hilarious stuff about Samson and those foxes.
those who are believers and worry about meeting gods standard for moral, ethics and general behavior seem to have very little to worry about.
at least if we are to take the bible serious.
most christians seems to be very selective in such matters.
Good post Norm,

or do you think that all religions are?
since they are all hypocrites or have teachings that don't match the bible or any other religious book?
I don't think any religion is a part of Babylon the Great as I think it is plainly obvious that the book of Revelation is describing ancient Rome.
"And the woman that you saw is the great city which has dominion over the kings of the earth" Rev 17:18.
have any of you who were ever "raised in the truth" really traced your doubts back to as early as you remember?
i would be interested in hearing what they were.. i started tracing my path of doubts.
doubts as a child:.
For me it wasn't the JW doctrines, it was the bible itself. Once I realised it was a book of myth and legend I was on the way out.
if you love jehovah and his organization so much, why look at sites like this!
they don't like you people using the internet and particularly sites like this!
this web site is so negative against jw's it's not funny!
Pole is right,
JCanon (Jesus Christ anonymous) thinks he is the second coming of Christ. He also happens to be a drag queen. I think he got this revelation one morning when he woke up in a dumpster.
Unlike most of our posting prophets, JC's arguments are very well thought out. I don't think this board would be the same without him.
CF.
the bible doesnt mention them at all.
so what the hell?
I once had the misfortune to get into a conversation with 2 Mormons who'd knocked at my door. I asked them something like 'why did they think god created dinosaurs only for them to get wiped out'. One of them said "I've thought about this one and I think it was so we could have oil".
mmmmmmm........
.
the world powers in daniel.
there was a thread somewhere about how the society "picked and chose" the empires they wanted to include to make the prophecy about the statue in daniel make sense.. the thread i am thinking of (or maybe it was a link to another website) gave a list of all kinds of other empires that were around before, after, and in-between the other world powers.. does anyone recall this or am i on crack?.
I think I remember the post you mean, although I can't find it. It listed some of the Empires between the Roman and the British which are simply ignored. I've pasted this from Wikipedia which summarizes some of these 'world powers'.
Although the term superpower is a recent one, the word has been retrospectively applied to previous military powers. The oldest superpower on the planet, and one which maintained this at various points in history, were the civilizations in Mesopotamia, with their unrivalled wealth, antiquity and cultural domination of Asia and beyond. The Roman Empire covered most of Europe, North Africa & Asia Minor. Imperial China once had the world's largest navy, a record not broken until early 19th century. The Mongol Empire spanned from southeast Asia to Eastern Europe. In 16th and 17th centuries the Ottoman Empire stretched from the Straits of Gibraltar to the Persian Gulf and challenged the nations of Europe in its advances along its southeastern border. During its Siglo de Oro, the Spanish Empire had possession of Italy, Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands and many colonies in America, Africa, and Asia. After gaining independence from Spain the Dutch Empire were able to establish territories all over the globe. At various times during its history France had the largest military in the world, with colonies in western Africa, North and South America and southeast Asia. At its peak in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the British Empire covered a quarter of the Earth's land area and comprised a third of its population. It was said "The sun never sets on the British Empire." Not as clearly in this category are nations that gained unquestioned hegemony over a large neighborhood at a time before global travel was a reality. Nations such as ancient Egypt, the Aztec Empire, the Persian Empire, and the short lived Greek/Macedonian empire under Alexander the Great could in one sense be considered early superpowers, at least for a time when an understanding of what is meant by "the world" was much smaller than it is today.

But his evidence was so overwhelming, how could he have been so wrong????
nabonidus -- 17 years.
nebuchadnezzar -- 43 years.
nabonidus -- 17 years
Thanks Seymour,
Looks like this too tries to assign a reign of 37 years to Nabonidus, even though this contradicts statements in the AID book and the quotes by Alleymom on post 2 of this thread.
Here's a great article by AlanF which includes the difficulties that arise when trying to insert an extra 20 years to the reign of Nabonidus:

Nicolaou,
Is there any chance you could paste the quote from page 184 of the Babylon book as well so I can compare the two. It's interesting that according to this 1965 Watchtower Nabonidus would have reigned for 37 years.
this is all over the news here at the moment.
something very serious has happened on the london underground, there's conflicting reports as to what actually has happened, but it's serious enough to have closed the entire underground network.
radio 5 is going continuously on this, and i think it's on the tv too.. whatever's happened, it doesn't look good.. ig.
Just seen on Sky that a bus has been blown apart. Not looking good.
